Coming to Ottawa and Conference/Summer School location
Check here to
see a list of countries whose residents need a visa prior to coming to
Canada. Ottawa has an international
airport. If you can not fly directly from your location to Ottawa,
the most frequent connecting airports would be Toronto, Montreal,
Vancouver, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Pittsburg. Once you
arrive at the airport, you have a choice of transportation options to
get you to the University of Ottawa or the Novotel Hotel:
- Cabs (just outside the airport at the arrival level). A trip
downtown will cost approximately C$25.
- Airport Shuttle,
stopping at all major hotels including the Novotel (you can walk to the
campus residences from there). 1-way fare for a single adult C$14.
- Public Transit: OC Transpo operates a bus from the airport (bus
route 97). The busses depart from post 14 outside the level 1 Arrivals
area, cash fare is C$3. For information on the bus schedule and route
map, check the OC
Transpo website. To get to the University of Ottawa campus, get off
at bus stop "Campus".
The conference and summer school will take place in the SITE (School of
Information Technology and Engineering) building on the south end of
the University of Ottawa campus. You can access a map of the campus here. If you arrive by car, here is a map with on-campus parking options. A downtown map
showing the location of the campus, the Novotel hotel, and the sites
for the social events can be accessed here.
