94.574: Elements of Computer Systems (Fall 2000)

Latebreaking News

In the Fall 2000 term, Thomas Kunz was teaching a graduate course on Elements of Computer Systems. The online calendar description from the current graduate calendar can be found on this page, though you have to look long and hard for it (it is towards the bottom of the document...). This page contains some information about the course and links to additional resources available to the class, either provided by the instructor or existing in the Internet. To find out more about the format of documents made available on this course webpage, read the comments on this page.

I will make arrangements to put a number of books on reserve in the library. These books should be viewed as a resource, do not attempt to read them all. Rather, use them to look up additional information for a specific topic covered in the course. To encourage you to use the books in this sense, all material on reserve is limited to 2 hours of loan period. To find out about the status of the reserve material, access the Carleton University Library here. A link that should lead you directly to the list of reserved course material for this course should be this one. Another often used resource is the course newsgroup, carleton.courses.94574f. As far as I know, this newsgroup is not exported beyond the Carleton University servers, so I will refrain from posting anything in this newsgroup (Ottawa U students will have a difficult time reading the news...).
