Error Control at the TCP Level
nOctet-stream-oriented error control
nTransmissions occur in segments. Each segment
has a sequence number. The sequence number is the first octet of the segment
nThe receiving TCP
host sends an acknowledgment. The ACK number is the next expected data octet.
nData that has not been acknowledged are re-transmitted.
