Conclusions
,Mobility Metric for Adaptive Routing
–Relative mobility: good correlation to the routing performance but need extra device to monitor node’s speed, global knowledge needed
–Link duration: need global knowledge, not very sensitive sometimes, highly sensitive at other times….
–Number of link breaks is a good choice: good correlation to the routing performance, simple and easy to obtain
–Mobility is highly dynamic/variable
,Single node experiences vastly different environment at different times
,Multiple nodes may experience vastly different environment at the very same moment
,Next step
–Apply mobility metric to a routing protocol
–Show that allowing nodes to individually adjust protocol behavior is beneficial
