Energy Metrics
nWhat is an “energy-efficient” routing protocol?
nPossible Metrics:
ØMinimize energy consumed/packet,
ØMaximize time to network partition,
ØMinimize variance in node energy levels,
ØMinimize cost/packet, and
ØMinimize maximum node cost.
nWe used: average overall amount of consumed energy
nNote: if minimizing energy consumption was only goal, a trivial optimal solution exists: drop all packets J
nTherefore, need to also consider packet delivery ratio
